Michał Pepol

Cellist, arranger and member of the Royal String Quartet, he also tries his hand as a composer. He is the creator of such projects as “Dźwięk odnaleziony” in collaboration with Paweł Bownik (2016), “Milczenie syren” in duet with Magdalena Cielecka, and “Among Angels” (2017). Since 2012, associated with the New Theatre in Warsaw, he performs in K. Warlikowski’s play “Francuzi” (the concert scene). He collaborates with many artists, including Natalia Przybysz, Kuba Krzewinski (dvd “Contre” for Bolt Records 2019), Stanisława Celinska, Agata Zubel, Ralph Kaminski, Stefan Wesołowski, Karol Radziszewski, Adam Walicki and Patryk Zakrocki (“Duos For Airports”). Together with Bartek Wąsik he co-creates Dwóchgłos; he is also a member of the Trimagine trio (2nd Prize and Special Czesław Niemen Award on the Polish Radio Folk Festival “New Tradition” in May 2019). He has performed at many festivals, such as Warsaw Autumn, Nostalgia, Pomada, Enter, Listening, National Reading, Etno Krakow, Tranströmer Days, Kontakt. He has made numerous recordings of theatre and film music and recorded his recitals for TVP Kultura, where he also curated a series of concerts called “Culture Live” in 2019. Since 2003, he has been teaching chamber music at the K. Szymanowski Secondary Music School in Warsaw. 2021 will see the premiere of the artist’s first solo album.
