ElettroVoce (Agata Zubel & Cezary Duchnowski)

This duo is the result of collaboration between two composers: Agata Zubel and Cezary Duchnowski. They are fascinated by colour, expanding performance possibilities and are eternally searching. Agata covers avant-garde vocalism and the search for new ways of vocal expression. For Cezary, it’s searching for new contexts for traditional instruments. This found a particular expression in the use of the human voice – hence the large number of pieces using this instrument. The duo has performed at numerous contemporary music festivals in Poland and abroad. Songs performed by them (usually their compositions) have been recorded many times by Polish Radio and presented by radio and television stations. In 2005, the artists received a special award for the best electronic ensemble at the prestigious contemporary music performance competition “Gaudeamus” in Holland. In 2008, the duo was awarded the Wroclaw Music Prize for the album “ElettroVoce.”
