After a dark night, after so many nightmares, it is once again light and warm. The heartbeat resumes: life returns. From beneath the white down of dream, like water set free by the spring sunlight, comes joy and the will to live and enjoy the beauty of the world. In Joanna Halszka Sokołowska’s Mu, water is not a deadly element but a symbol of life.
Night, disease, and Ondine try in vain to make it their own but darkness, however long and terrifying, is always a transient state. Waves of water and musical vibrations bring the miracle of life to the surface. And we feel thankful.
