Traditional cultures tried to make sense of the world by telling stories about gods and supernatural beings. Naming a medical condition after a supernatural being lends it a mythical dimension. The condition becomes a curse – something that has to be lifted, not treated. Folk songs are one of the ways in which myths and legends have been passed down from generation to generation. That is why folk music is such an important part of Ondinata. In our search for lullabies we have turned to various cultures, languages and musical idioms.
